Chiyaan Vikram ‘s Sketch Movie Review … Rating :- 2/5
Sketch has Chiyaan Vikram playing the title role. Tamanna pairs up with him for the first time. Directed by Vijay Chandar, Thaman scores music for this action entertainer.
Here is a short review of Sketch. Sketch is a revenge action entertainer that’s written commercially aimed at the commercial audience packed with love, comedy, sentiment, action, songs and mass BGM’s. A routine story that we had seen many times in Tamil films before, but with an extra touch in the climax that makes sketch stand out.
Chiyaan Vikram as a North chennai guy slays in his swag and beard. He is effortlessly cool and stylish and takes the whole film on his shoulders as One Man army. Be it romancing or action blocks or sentiments, Chiyaan is effortless and delivers a packed performance. His screen presence is evident throughout the film.
Vijay Chandar takes a normal revenge story and tries to keep it engaging with the slow motion cuts plus mass BGM’s. We are not getting into the storyline. First half gets its peak during the interval sequence chase scene. Second half travels in the same pace as first half, but here the plot changes into finding who is the killer behind serial murders that’s happening. The pre climax mass murder scene by Chiyaan is the ultimate USP of the film. The climax reveal is too unexpected and leaves us emotional which is why a very average could be film makes us to say ‘A good film’. The climax message is need of an hour and Vijay Chandar should be applauded for it.
Tamanna has enough screentime. A neat role, she comes throughout the film. Thaman had a huge work to do and did it well capturing what the director required. A very nice BGM’s at places.
As a whole, Sketch is Vikram’s single man show all the way. Only he stays in our heart with a satisfying climax reveal.
Verdict: Chiyaan Vikram’s One Man Show with an emotional climax.
